If you run a website, SaaS, or any online service, a status page is a must-have for building trust with your users. It shows them you're transparent about your service's availability. You don't need to pay for it—here’s how to set one up for free in just a few steps.

Step 1: Get a Free Uptime Monitor

A status page needs data. The first step is to get a free tool to watch your site.

  • Sign up for a free plan at a service like RobotAlp.

  • From the dashboard, create a new Uptime Monitor and point it to your main website URL (e.g., https://mywebsite.com). This monitor will check your site 24/7.

Step 2: Create Your Status Page

Now, let's create the public page itself.

  • In the RobotAlp menu, find the "Status Pages" section.

  • Click to create a new page, give it a name like "My Website Status," and choose a subdomain for its address.

Step 3: Link Your Monitor to the Page

This is the final step to make your page live.

  • Edit your new status page and go to the "Monitors" tab.

  • Select the uptime monitor you created in Step 1 from the dropdown list and click "Add".

  • Click "Save".
